1567 Eco-Simple Food Service Packaging
First Green Restaurant Distributor™ in Arizona
Phoenix, AZ– 1567 Eco-Simple Food Service Packaging (1567) is the first distributor in the entire state of Arizona to earn the prestigious environmental award. The Green Restaurant Association (GRA) designated 1567 as a Green Restaurant Distributor™ after it passed its rigorous vetting process. 1567 submitted all of its products to the GRA to determine which of them met one of the GRA’s over 400 environmental standards in its restaurant industry environmental certification program. The GRA recently completed that process and determined that 1567 can easily supply a restaurant with all of the green disposable products it needs in order to become a Certified Green Restaurant®.
“If all of America’s restaurant distributors followed in 1567’s leadership as a Green Restaurant Distributor™, it would be a transformative step forward towards environmental sustainability,” says Michael Oshman, CEO and Founder of the Green Restaurant Association. “The restaurant industry has an enormous impact on our environment. We applaud 1567 for making it easy for restaurants to improve their environmental practices in a transparent fashion with the sustainability information and integrity they deserve.”
“1567 EcoSimple is proud to be associated with the Green Restaurant Association,” says Tim Moilanen, owner of 1567 EcoSimple. “Green starts at home and we believe there is room to grow in terms of environmental stewardship practices within our nation. 1567 strives to promote waste stream management by endorsing composting, recycling and re-use of single use foodservice packaging while minimizing the footprint of manufacturing and transportation for our clients.”
Restaurants consume 1/3 of all electricity in the retail sector. Dining out accounts for over half of our food budget. With issues of climate change, ocean pollution, and sustainable food at the forefront of this year’s headlines, it’s important to note 1567’s leadership in environmental sustainability.
